Got some new Pete Rock... Because we didn't hear a new Premo track for quit a while I'm making an exception to post some other exclusives I've got. Next week DJ Premier goes to LA to record some tracks with Christina Aguilera, so DJ Eclipse will fill in. The track of Blaq Poet called "Hate" with Noreaga was supposed to leak last night, but Preem didn't had it with him. "The Blaqprint" will be released the 29th of june. Buckshot and KRS-One were the guests this week. Here you got a new Bumpy Knuckles track produced by Pete Rock, and finally, a Pete Rock production that I feel this year. I don't think it's leaked yet?! Enjoy:

Bumpy Knuckles - The Mack (Prod. by Pete Rock)

I've also got this Pete Rock solo track I posted up last week on some forums, but a lot of people didn't heard it yet I think? So this one is quit new as well:

European Tour Cancelled

DJ Premier's tour to Europe next week in cancelled for unkown reasons. Actually very bad for myself because I paid €27 to see him live next week. His name is changed by Bob Sinclar, whatever, not going to spend more words!

Next week LiveFromHQ will be filled in by DJ Eclipse.

UPDATE: No official reason, but he said last night he will be recording with Christina Aguilera next week in LA so...

LiveFromHQ 17/04/2009

Good news people, I'm again recording DJ Premier's show. I even got better news, I'm recording now in the quality that Premo uses for his turntables after paying to XMradio (not Sirius anymore). I noticed I still didn't drop an exclusive on this blog that I recorded from his show like I used to do for the DJ Premier Forum, still waiting!! "Tha Blaqprint" is coming in june and then he will work on "Pros N Cons" and then we'll see his solo album. I just need fresh Premo, where is the new Nick Javas and Teflon (with Papoose and Saigon)? Too bad he said some time ago he would drop them...

Kinda old interview?

PREEMISH: Electric - Relax Today

If you are into jazzy hip hop, like the hip hop producers in Japan you'll probably know this one. It's from the group Electric (aka Electric Company) who released only one album in 2004 called "Lifes A Struggle". It's an American (Boston) hip hop group with members Insight, Dagha, Anonymous, Moe Pope and Raheem. But half of the album is produced by Martingang (Japan). The whole album is good, I would say very good. This joint is produced by Insight and contains a 'funny' sample, like a Hawaii sample. Enjoy:

Which Gang Starr Foundation member should return; VOTE!!

I would like to introduce a new poll to y'all, I want to see what artist should need to return to the Gang Starr Foundation. Their are two people who are missing in the list because they don't need to come back, they're still in the posse. Even today when the click isn't really active. Those are Bumpy Knuckles (I won't call him Freddie Foxxx anymore because this is his 'new' name) and Big Shug who both still make recordings with DJ Premier untill this day. Watch out for the new Big Shug album that will come certain this year, we know how royal Big Shug is! Also NYGz is excluded. For most it won't be necessary, but a little background info won't hurt:

Bahamadia
Haha Bahamadia, her monotone flow got me hooked on her. She is the only female artist in the list, but that doesn't mean a thing. Born in Philadelphia, but made her debut in New York in 1996 with help from Gang Starr and The Roots for her classic hip hop album "Kollage". Only in 2000 she made her second album, but this time without the help from Gang Starr. But she actually never disappeared from the scene, always into guest appearance even untill this day. She loves to work with other artists from the whole world, especially Japanese artists. But I have to say how it is, the only album I play of her is "Kollage", that lovely monotone voice on those hardcore street boom bap will always keep my head banging... I never knew why she left Gang Starr Foundation, but something tells me they went seperate ways in friendship.

Jeru the Damaja
This one was probably the most successful ex-player of the Gang Starr Foundation, started rhyming on the streets of Brooklyn and was together with Group Home the artist who got Premier interested in. Made two albums with Preem with lyrics and flow nobody can forget. Got into beef with The Fugees and The Notorious B.I.G. and even the Gang Starr Foundation. Never knew why they really split, but it wasn't with peace. I've heard it was for money issues and even for Premo fucking his sister, but I know he went very mad when Premier gave "Ten Crack Commandments" to Biggie instead to Jeru. Now he is touring with The Beatnuts and Lordz of the Underground in Europe (Yes, I was there).

Group Home
Is the only formation in the list, consists of Lil' Dap and Melachi the Nutcracker. Made only one album with DJ Premier in 1995. But surprise surprise, also this one is a classic (even when their rhyme abilities were questionable). They made a second album in 1999 with only one Premo production (the only reason he produced the joint was because Guru would rap on it). The reason they split is because they didn't show respect or something. While Lil' Dap made a lot of guests appearance, signed to Polish label and made last year his debut solo album, went Melachi the Nutcracker to jail. Now more then ten years later they're preparing to make a come back...

Afu-Ra
Who we got here? Dayum, AFU-RA! He doesn't need to come back to the foundation, he needs to come back to hip hop in general. But good news, he is coming back and yes, with Premo on the boards he said. And he is a loyal person, always had a Preem on his album. Don't really know what to say further, always had mad respect for him...

Krumb Snatcha
A Boston MC who made legendary appearance on Gang Starr tracks such as "Put Up Or Shut Up" and "Make 'Em Pay". Has only made two solo tracks who are produced by DJ Premier, but always made strong appearances in general. Even I never heard it direct, I have the feeling he left the Foundation. His new album "Hidden Scriptures" won't include a Premier track, but he didn't forget Large Pro and Pete Rock. Release date is 28/04.

THANKS FOR VOTING !!

Most Anticipated Album; RESULTS!!

The poll of 100 days is ended, with a total of 1222 unique votes. Here you can re-read the question with the info of that album and artist. I admit it wasn't the best poll, but whatever. The album that the people most want is Blaq Poet "The Best That Never Did It". Here you have the complete results:
  1. Blaq Poet - The Best That Never Did It (442, 36%)
  2. NYGz - Pros N Cons (340, 27%)
  3. Nick Javas - Destination Unkown (223, 18%)
  4. Teflon - Contraband (148, 12%)
  5. F.A.B.I.D. - Smash City (26, 2%)
  6. Boy Big - [Untitled] (13, 1%)
  7. Rave Roulette - [Untitled] (9, 0.7%)
I want to thank everybody for their vote! The NYGz album is in the making, has already a couple of recordings. When we can expect Poets fully Premo produced album is not known, but I do know that Preems solo album is earlier on the program of Year Round Records.

DJ Premier on Cormega upcoming album

Last night Cormega presented in more then 7 years time his new album"Born And Raised" at the SOBs. Cormega presented two tracks produced by DJ Premier, one we already know as the "Dirty Game". The other is a track we never heard before, so watch out for that one! Also Large Professor, Havoc, Lil' Fame and Pete Rock are on the boards. People who visited the party were able to tell me that the new Premo track is doper then the "Dirty Game" track, which was also nice with the lovely Barry White sample. The new Pete Rock track was also outstanding I've heard. Album date isn't annouced yet, but it will be released on Legal Hustle Records.

Preem also spoke the intro for the new Torae & Marco Polo collabo album "Double Barrel" (out in june).

DJ Premier Considers Albums With KRS-One & MC Eiht

DJ Premier, one of Hip Hop’s most coveted producers is having quite a busy year. Aside from starting his own label DJ Premier is also working on projects with rappers Blaq Poet, MC Eiht, and possibly KRS-One.

In a recent interview with Conspiracy Radio, DJ Premier spoke on his upcoming collaborations as well as the current status of Hip Hop.

The level of the bar was so high that it was really hard to get into Hip Hop unless you really had top-notch skills, beats, rhyming, everything,” DJ Premier explained. “We wanna put that part [to the] forefront. So we’ll do it eventually. It’ll get its spot back, but in the meantime it never died or anything it’s just not as out there as the mainstream watered down rap stuff and that’s cool because it helps us reformat our audience that wants to support this style and the ones that don’t want to support it we’re not making it for them anyway.”

Among the four artists on DJ Premier’s new label, Year Round Records, is Blaq Poet former member of pioneering Queens Hip Hop group Screwball.

We’re about to drop this album from Blaq Poet. Straight out of Queensbridge. We just shot the video. The album’s called Tha Blaqprint. That is the official album. I produced the entire album.” A tracklist posted on fansite djpremierblog.blogspot.com has reported that Easy Mo Bee and one other producer actually make contributions to Poet's solo debut, distributed through Fat Beats.

Aside from the artists already on his label, DJ Premier’s Year Round Records may also feature albums by KRS-One and MC Eiht.

I’m thinking about doing a project with MC Eiht [of] Compton’s Most Wanted,DJ Premier explained to Conspiracy Radio. “We talked about doing an album on my label, and also me and KRS-One talked about doing not Return Of The Boom Bap; we’re gonna do Return Of The Boom Bips. So right now that’s still a go. An all KRS, Premier album would be great.” Besides a "Criminal Minded" update in recent years, the two are best known for their work together between 1993 and 1995, on the self-titled and Return Of The Boom Bap albums. Compton's Most Wanted used Premier to remix their 1992 song "Def Wish II," a song originally have appeared on Music To Driveby.

Wow, they have a hip hop tv in Bulgaria? It even looks professional, to bad they didn't had a professional host:

And here you have part 3 of the Polish interview.
