Thorotracks - Gangstas In NY (Feat. NYGz) (Prod. by Thorotracks)

I totally overlooked this one. In july I had a rip of a NYGz track that wasn't produced by DJ Premier. I didn't had any info about the track, where it should be released on. But the producers name was Thorotracks and they were making their own solo album "The Saga Continues" where this NYGz track is from. That album got released in august so it's a bit old. If you like his beats you should cop the album, also Year Round Record artist Blaq Poet and Gang Starr Foundation member Krumb Snatcha are featuring. Cop it here for only $9. Enjoy:

Statik Selektah - Other Than That (Feat. NYGz) (Prod. by Statik Selektah) (Radio Rip)

I'm happy to present to you a brand new track with Year Round Records members Shabeeno and Panchi. Produced the one and only Statik Selektah for his upcoming EP "Pre Game" coming soon. This is already the 2nd time Statik Selektah works with a YRR member, first we had Nick Javas with his track "Beginning to End" here. Another proof of the good relations between Showoff and YRR. Oh yes, and in about one month my blog exists one year, maybe I'm thinking of changing some things; AYE!! Enjoy:

PREEMISH: El Da Sensei & The Returners - Ain't Trippin' (Feat. Ghettosocks & Timbuktu)

!!EXCLUSIVE EXCLUSIVE!! Just got this in my mailbox from Michal Chwialkowski (The Returners), and shit is too hard, so why not posting it!! This is in my top 10 tracks of 2009! El Da Sensei from The Artifacts teamed up one year ago with Polish production team The Returners for making an album called "Global Takeover". No misstep, it was surprisingly an underground hit. Now one year later we can tell that El Da Sensei still loves the European flavor by releasing a new EP with The Returners. Check out promo vid:

The track features underground artists Ghettosocks (from whom we already made a preemish post) and Timbuktu. It is the clean version, but even the clean version has preemish sounds haha. Bang this shit:

Clean: El Da Sensei & The Returners - Ain't Trippin' (Feat. Ghettosocks & Timbuktu) (Clean) (Prod. by The Returners)

Dirty: El Da Sensei & The Returners - Ain't Trippin' (Feat. Ghettosocks & Timbuktu) (Dirty) (Prod. by The Returners)

DJ Premier worked with Slovakian MC "Rytmus" for his upcoming album!

A new European x DJ Premier collabo seems to see the light still this year. The Slovakian "Rick Ross" aka Rytmus (Slovakian for "Rhythm") worked with DJ Premier for his upcoming album "Kral" ("King"). It's general assumed they got in touch with each other when Premo did his last European Tour. The Slovakian MC isn't a unknown person in own country, started his career in 1992, and started 9 years later with his successful group Kontrafakt. But I guess Slovakia was too small for him, because in 2003 he got a hit with the song "Dáva mi" ("It Gives Me") that reached out to Poland and Germany followed by his second place in the Austrian beatbox championship battle where he won over young American talent Lee-Jay. Not afraid of international collaborations he already worked with Kool Savas and Nate Dogg. Rytmus official site says the album is coming next month!

Too bad we won't understand a fuck about the lyrics, but still curious as fuck. Props to
DJ Spank for the heads up!

DJ Premier Gave Jay-Z "Some Heat" for Blueprint 3

Much has been talked about which producers should've produced on Jay-Z's latest album, The Blueprint 3 sequel. Although DJ Premier is absent in the liner notes, he did submit three beats that were left on the cutting room floor.

In the process of recording the album, according to Premier, Hov asked the legendary hip-hop producer to send a few tracks.

"I ran into him at [DJ] Cassidy's birthday party," Premier tells VIBE. "I hadn't seen him in a while and he told me to send him three tracks. But I have a habit of not getting my tracks to [artists] at the time that they need them, so by the time I got them to Jay he was really in a rush to wrap up his album."

With deadline approaching, the songs submitted simply didn't fit Jay's vision.

"It was all cool. There will be other days, and on top of that our history is made from other things we did," Premier says, referencing others cuts he produced earlier in Jay's career, including "D'Evils" and "Friend or Foe."

"I gave him some heat," he adds of the Blueprint 3 submissions. "But again it just didn't fit the mold of what he was trying to bring out with this particular project. Maybe we'll get gutter on the next one."

Preemo is also looking to squeeze in work for Eminem's upcoming Relapse 2, for which Just Blaze is already a confirmed collaborator. Since he's kicking off a DJ tour in Europe this week, however, time is once again working against him.

"[Eminem and I] spoke about doing some beats. My schedule is just dumb crazy but there's no way I want to miss an Eminem album," Premier says. "But still the first thing is to handle what's the most necessary, which is to get my artists up and running [NYGz, Blaq Poet] and close to releasing their music and then if there's a window to work with him I'll definitely do it."

The producer explains that it's just about getting face time with Marshall. "I literally cook it up right there on the spot and then that way it really sounds like we match," he says. "I tailor the track to the artist and I love Eminem as an MC so I already pretty much know what to make." -Clover Hope

Cormega's "Born And Raised"

I rarely buy things that are in the shop, because -for those who don't know- I'm a collector of things that aren't in the common shop. But this one is different, got the album today in my mailbox and didn't regret one bit of it. How could I? It's Cormega with his own indie label and father of a young daughter. How can you not support that shit? He deserve every cent of it, in my opinion is this one and Skyzoo's "Salvation" top of year 2009. When I read the inlay of the album I saw this interesting picture with the note of Cormega: "Premier, it was a dream come true to work with you. Thanks for the moment and the music". Hopefully we hear a dozen more Cormega DJ Premier joints hehe, and Cormega told us that the "Dirty Game (Remix)" is coming! Looking forward! Go cop that shit!! Peace.

Btw, wonderful answer on the Drake question by Cormega made me love this album even more!

Khaleel - Rappin' Exercise (Feat. Panchi) (Prod. by Showbiz) (Radio Rip)

Mister Khaleel aka Texan Future was for more then one week in New York to record tracks. While making the album complete he recorded most with DJ Premier, but also Showbiz did his thing. Now DJ Premier Blog brings you the radio rip of that track (cuts by DJ Premier(!)) that features Panchi! Year Round Records is getting down, only they need to release every six months in everyones opinion. And believe me, you can't get more under the ground then this underground track. Spread it on a silent way! Enjoy:

Khaleel - Rappin' Exercise (Feat. Panchi) (Prod. by Showbiz) (Radio Rip)

And because I laughed my ass of with Panchi (like every week) I ripped this conversation between DJ Eclipse, Panchi, DJ Premier and Cormega (who was this week guest), listen here! The "Dirty Game (Remix)" is going to be released later..

Is Gang Starr Back? Pt. 2

Hmm, something isn't right over here... Guru deleted his tweets and putted a new one. Lemme send some mails or time will tell.

UPDATE: DJ Premier manager Phat Gary aka Gary Bond told us that their is no reunion between Premo and Guru. But that was logical. What is Guru planning? Here you have an old interesting interview of Guru where he told us that there is no beef between DJ Premier and him (which is hardly to believe) and where he said if there would be a Gang Starr reunion (which is possible), it would be on 7Grand Records.

A Red Bull Music Academy Interview

This is 2 year old interview token by The Red Bull Academy. It contains two hours of material. You know what also contains two hours (or one?) of material with DJ Premier? That Peter Rosenberg interview where you had to pay to come, he said the video was almost ready. I thought that was called Noisemakers? We only saw 10 min? Bleh Peter!

Oh, and you can download the mp3 version here and not only DJ Premier had his interview, also ?uestlove, Arabian Prince, Black Milk, Blu & Exile, Bun B, Chuck D, DJ Red Alert, Nicolay, Nottz, Oh No, Phonte, Prince Paul and even Joe Bataan & Sir Mix-a-Lot together with many other international artists, hours and hours of film! Who took this all? Here you have the link.

Is Gang Starr Back?

Don't get all excited, but Guru said on twitter Gang Starr is back. Gotta love this twitter stuff, how much closer will we get to someone with this internet thing? But the best part is you control it, but it has no limits. Enough philosophical shit, I'm sure Guru just saying he and Superproducer Solar are back with Gang Starr like in this interview where he said he was influenced by Lady Gaga: "I am Gangstarr. It’s happening now as we speak. It’s me baby! Come to a show and watch me perform Mass Appeal". Imagen Guru making a new Gang Starr album with Superproducer Solar, meh, better then nothing! The question remains!

Royce da 5'9" - Something 2 Ride 2 (Feat. Phonte)

Wheeeee, this is my shit!! Like I said, I needed to post this shit this week!! I love Royce for putting Phonte on the track for sure!! New week present, get it and play it one week straight y'all hear:

Royce da 5'9" - Something 2 Ride 2 (Feat. Phonte)

Support "Street Hop" 20th Oct !! Btw, DJ Premier said 6 tracks (I think he incl. "Ding!" and "Hit 'Em"), so that counts 2 + the 3 tracks on "Street Hop" "Hood Love", "Shake This" and "Something 2 Ride 2" + the track that isn't released because Royce (or his label) didn't want to pay for the sample. Yes, that counts 6!

Royce da 5'9" - Hood Love (Feat. Bun B & Joell Ortiz) (Final Mix)

Never had this before, hours after the radio rip I leaked the album cut got leaked. October 20th, support that shit! I love this track just like my hood:

Royce da 5'9" - Hood Love (Feat. Bun B & Joell Ortiz) (Final Mix)

No DJ Premier on Christina Aguilera's Next Album

Yes, it's true! No DJ Premier on Christina's Aguilera next album! From the 9 records Preem recorded with Aguilera none of them will be featured on the upcoming album, that is what he said in an interview with Conspiracy Radio last night. The reason why the tracks won't be featured is cause it won't fit with the idea and concept of the album, which is futuristic. But DJ Premier assured us that further collaboration is possible in the far future, like with her upcoming movie project "Burlesque". God please, leak those tracks. A lot of people will be pissed I think.

Premo also told us that Nick Javas is getting ready to drop his 12inch and that Gemcrates is signed to Works of Mart. Ow yeah, interesting note about the "Mr. Magic Salute Intro" he did last week: it was created in 20min, he took the beat from his "Beats That Collected Dust Vol. 2" and did his thing. No notes on when that is going to be released. Further
Conspiracy Radio discussed -in the 30min interview on the phone- the deaths of Mr. Magic, Roc Raida and DJ AM. After that we got the interesting questions about the KRS-One "Outta Here (Demo)" track, Royce's "Street Hop", and wondering if their were any updates on the Nas and Gang Starr project. Hear it yourself:

DJ Premier on Conspiracy Radio

Big shout out to the people of Conspiracy Radio, thank you!

Royce Da 5'9" - Hood Love (Feat. Bun B & Joell Ortiz) (Final Mix) (Radio Rip)

What did DJ Premier played today on his show? The final mix of "Hood Love" that includes scratches and Joell Ortiz! This will be the last track on Royce da 5'9" upcoming most anticipating album "Street Hop". Preem really switched his style up for "Street Hop", it's like he wanted to bring the emotional Royce for us. And I'm loving it, I already know "Something 2 Ride" with Phonte will be my favorite! But don't worry if you want hardcore Royce, for those tracks he hired Streetrunner and Mr. Porter. I should expect the Phonte track this week, now enjoy this final mix of "Hood Love":

KRS-One - Outta Here (Demo Version)

A Mr. Magic (R.I.P.) diss! I know it got leaked before I started this blogshit, but what the heck, now that we are reminiscing the Mr. Magic I felt like uploading this shit again. Pretty rare, large props from me to whoever uploaded this (seems like a radio rip). I'm wondering what DJ Premier's thoughts were in the studio, but he was just glad he could worked with KRS-One (at that time) I guess. Or was it maybe his decision to release the proper version? Eargasm:

DJ Premier - Mr. Magic Salute Intro

Ripped from the tribute mix by DJ Premier that I ripped last week, it was shared on enough sites though but people still asked for it so here is the mp3! I'm asking myself how much time Preem put in this, another reason to be a fan of Premo! Enjoy the excellent quality of paid satellite radio:

R.I.P. Mr. Magic Tribute Mix

DJ Premier had to do it again, it's terrible! Your favorite rapper got to be a fan of Mr. Magic, making the hip hop radio scene since 1984! Mentioned in well known songs by 2Pac, The Notorious B.I.G., Nas and in Preems produced song "Bang This" by Blaq Poet. For me he is well known by hosting the radio show "Wildstyle Pirate Radio" in the computer game GTA: Vice City. Big respect to Rockstar. The mix includes the beef between Mr. Magic and Public Enemy, excludes the beef with KRS-One with the song "Outta Here (Mr. Magic Diss Version)", enjoy:

Btw, very nice intro tribute from DJ Premier with a unique Preem beat!

R.I.P. Mr. Magic

Message from DJ Premier:
I want to send out the utmost respect and condolences to the memory of John Rivas — aka Mr. Magic.

He passed away this morning of a heart attack.

True hip hop heads know that his history is so long due to him being the first rap mixshow to ever be on commercial radio on New York’s WBLS (107.5) with Marley Marl and Fly Ty in 1982-1984. Then went on to to WHBI in October 1984 and then back to WBLS in 1985 and WDAS in Philly. Simultaneously he paved the way for all radio stations that ever did mixshows and also sparked the career of Boogie Down Productions due to the ids he showed when they came to shop their demo to him and was turned away which then sparked “South Bronx” and “The Bridge Is Over”. He was known for his direct and sarcastic attitude on the air and every artist wanted his approval when it came to breaking new records. He even had songs dedicated to him by the legendary Whodini (”Mr. Magic’s Wand”) which was surprisingly produced by one of my favorite artists, Thomas Dolby.

Shouts out to Marley Marl & Fly Ty for the correct information on this. Rest in Peace Mr. Magic. -DJ Premier
Every Saturday, Rap Attack, Mr. Magic, Marley Marl. -The Notorious B.I.G.
